ELPHINSTONE-REEF is famous for its exhilarating drift dives, the abundance of sharks, and its unspoiled reef teeming with life. Most divers rightly consider it one of the best dive sites in the world.
THE FURY SHOALS make up several reefs along the Southwest Red Sea coast. They offer amazing scuba diving opportunities with some of the most pristine reefs in Egypt. Both hard and soft corals thrive here, such as in the Fury Shoal Garden.
QUALIFICATION NEEDED:
Join this safari by holding a PADI Open Water diver certification or equivalent and logging at least 30 dives.
As with all diving activities, the dive guide will decide if you are able to complete a particular dive. Therefore, always follow the dive guide's advice to ensure your safety.
This itinerary combines spectacular drop-offs and big pelagics from Daedalus Reef and Elphinstone Reef. In addition, it features stunning reefs and coral gardens from Fury Shoals. It offers an incredible opportunity to explore some of the Red Sea's most famous dive sites.
Please note: You can only do night diving and snorkeling in certain areas. Some parts of the itinerary are in marine parks where these activities are not allowed. Some dives will take place from a RIB to fully experience these exceptional dive sites.
Marine life in the area is also impressive, with all the usual reef fishes of the Red Sea and various species of reef sharks (White-tip, Grey). Occasionally, you may encounter the curious Oceanic White-tip Shark. Pelagic fish, including Barracudas, Giant Trevallies, and Dogtooth Tunas, are also frequent in the area.
Certainly, you’ll find various kinds of dive sites depending on your preferences (or what excites you!). Fringing reefs, lagoons, drop-offs, and wrecks are some of the options. You definitely won’t get bored here diving amongst these magnificent coral formations. For those with a PADI Open Water certification or higher, a very famous dive site in The Fury Shoals is called the Dolphin Reef (Sha’ab Sataya).
A pod of dolphins lives there and divers or snorkelers can often spot them.

Most of the dives on Daedalus Reef are drift dives along amazing deep walls covered by superb coral. Moreover you can encounter pelagic fish such as the Giant Trevally or the Dogtooth Tuna and Manta Rays. Due to its remote location and Marine Park status, people consider Daedalus Reef one of the most pristine dive sites in Egypt. Additionally, divers regard it as one of the best dive sites in the Red Sea. Therefore, divers seeking unspoiled beauty consider it a top choice.
